Tel Aviv named ‘best beach party spot on planet’

Israel’s White City triumphs over Cape Town, Ibiza, Goa and even Phuket as the world’s No. 1 sun-water-sand destination.

tel-aviv-beachISRAEL21c (April 16) — Matador Network has released the ultimate travel guide to partying around the world and names Tel Aviv as its number one beach party location. The guide, titled 101 Places to Get F*cked Up Before You Die, is aimed at world-trekking party-goers and is written by “professional party-crashers” in search of the best parties in the world.

Tel Aviv is hailed for its hedonistic ways. Surprisingly, the White City triumphed over other top beach hotspots including Goa, Phuket, and Ibiza.

“Israel’s financial hub sure knows how to throw a party. Business licensing is lax here, which means there’s always a new hotspot on the scene, with new clubs sometimes literally popping up overnight. News spreads on the beach, so skip the recommendations in the guidebook and catch a few rays while chatting up some locals to find where the pulse is beating that night,” reads 101 Places.

Watch: This Flight Attendant Actually Had People Roaring With Laughter During Her Safety Presentation

TheBlaze (April 14) — Most well-seasoned air travelers know the drill: The moment you hear the words “brief safety demonstration,” you probably tune out and crack open your book.

But a Southwest Airlines flight attendant who “had a long day” used a bit of humor and successfully commanded the attention of the entire cabin.

“My ex-husband, my new boyfriend and their divorce attorney are going to show you the safety features of this Boeing 737 800 series,” the flight attendant, identified by Digital Journal as Marty Cobb, said, eliciting laughs from the passengers heading to Salt Lake City.

Here are a few of the highlights from her comedy sketch posted to YouTube Saturday:

  • “Position your seat belt tight and low against your hips, like my grandmother wears her support bra.”
  • In the unlikely event of a water landing, “everyone gets their very own, teenie weenie yellow Southwest bikini.”
  • “As you know it’s a no-smoking, no-whining, no-complaining flight. It’s a please and thank you, and you are such a good looking flight attendant flight.”
  • “If you’re traveling with small children … we’re sorry.”
  • “Basically, just do what we say and nobody gets hurt.”

Charity game between FDNY, NYPD leads to all-out brawl

CBS Sports (April 7) — Every year the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York get together for a little charity hockey game. The two sides meet and while it’s all in the name of charity, there’s certainly some rivalry aspect to it as well, a little city-wide bragging rights among the city’s finest. Apparently that rivalry has some bad blood as the game — it bears repeating, the charity game — broke out into a full-on brawl at Nassau Coliseum on Sunday. Just about everybody was fighting but the goalies, who watched the action together from center ice. In the end it was the NYPD getting the win in the game, 8-5. FDNY now holds a record of 23-16-2 vs. the NYPD but this one is probably going to be remembered for a bit more than the final score.

Video: Incredible rescue footage from a burning building

construction-worker-escapes-fireDaily News (March 26) — Houston firefighters made a daring rescue of a construction worker trapped on an upper balcony of an under-construction apartment complex as a raging fire nearly trapped the man.

The helmeted worker stood on an upper-floor balcony Tuesday as a five-alarm fire engulfed the $50 million, 396-unit apartment complex at W. Dallas and Marconi Sts. in downtown Houston.

The worker waved for help before hanging down and jumping to a lower balcony as the inferno became too intense.

Firefighters got the ladder in place just in time. As the worker climbed aboard and the ladder was moved away from the building, the burning walls began to fall, crashing down where the construction worker and firefighter had been just moments before.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which officials believe was sparked by workers welding on the roof.

Watch Pedestrians Hilariously Answer Jimmy Kimmel’s Preposterous ‘Confusing Question of the Day’

Late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel took to the streets of Los Angeles Friday, pranking pedestrians by asking them his “confusing question of the day.”

Meshing all the week’s news into a preposterous question, Kimmel asked individuals, “Do you believe Crimea’s vernal equinox should remain in the multiverse, or do you support Ukraine’s acquisition of the Lululemon?”

The question is designed to absolutely make no sense, Kimmel explained, but that didn’t stop individuals from giving their opinion.

“Um, I support it,” one unidentified woman answered.

“Why?” asked the interviewer.

“Well, you know, first of all, I think that I believe in their beliefs,” the woman responded.

Schwarzenegger Will Ride in a Tank and Destroy Things for Charity

The action hero and former California governor is selling a chance for fans to ride shotgun with him in an M47 tank while he runs a whole bunch of stuff over, an idea he says he got from Reddit. Proceeds from the raffle will go to charity

After crushing a “steak and egger” sandwich and frying an ostrich egg on his tank with the Epic Meal Time gang last week, Arnold Schwarzenegger is now going to crush things with his tank.

You can enter to win a chance to ride shotgun with him in his M47 Patton tank and — with cigars in hand — run over everything from bubble wrap to a piano to a copy of Million Dollar Baby. The shenanigans benefit After-School All-Stars, which plans after-school activities for disadvantaged children.

According to the description of the video on Schwarzenegger’s YouTube channel, “This idea came from Reddit, so I want to give credit where credit is due. Specifically, it came from “ipeeinyourshower” who has better taste in video ideas for charity than usernames.”

In a January promotion for After-School All-Stars, the former California Governor posed as a trainer at his old stomping grounds Gold’s Gym. The video went viral, racking up 17.2 million views to date.

See How Jimmy Fallon Kicked Off First Star-Studded ‘Tonight Show’ After Replacing Jay Leno

NEW YORK (AP) — If Jimmy Fallon had already proven he was a natural hosting NBC’s “Late Night,” he left no doubt Monday that “The Tonight Show” now fits him like a glove.

As promised during the much-promoted run-up to his “Tonight Show” debut, Fallon made no drastic changes to the “Late Night” formula that had served him for five years. He remained funny, gracious, bubbly and, above all, comfortable presiding over a show that was different mostly for its earlier time slot, its classier production values and legendary brand name.

One of the more memorable moments came when Fallon and Will Smith performed the “evolution of hip-hop dancing” together:
